Conclusion

There will always be two sides to an argument. Controversially, there are people who have an opposing viewpoint on this matter. Some people believe that student athletes should not be paid and that they already have more unfair advantages than students who don’t participate in Division I athletics. These people believe that the athletes are student’s first and that they should not being receiving anything other than at most a full scholarship. Despite of how these people feel, big time college sport athletes should be treated like employees and receive a bigger monthly income than just the little scholarship stipend they receive. Division I athletes put in many hours of hard work and both the NCAA and universities benefit from them greatly. There is no doubt in my mind that it isn’t fair that big time college athletes should be treated like employees. The NCAA should step up and come to the realization that they are employers and the athletes are their employees. With that being said, all this money that the big time athletes are making and all the hard work they are putting into their sports, they should be compensated for. The NCAA should take a step forward and compensate these athletes.
